This subject has been discussed B-4. These negative people NEVER go away. Recruits realize that should they choose to attend VT, their names will eventually be lambasted by "fans" of a program that has been in the midst of one of the most successful runs in college football. Honestly, some people need to " get a life". We will never know the damage that has actually been inflicted. Sad. And we pay for this.
It's not the entire fan base. Not by a long shot. It's just a small minority of childish idiots who will never be satisfied no matter what happens and who literally can't wait to come on here to whine and moan about something or other. Every fan base has them. Ours, unfortunately, is no exception.
But this is precisely why I wish that the management of this site would do a "spring cleaning" and permanently yank the passwords of about 7 or 8 people. We all know who they are.
Not only would it greatly improve the enjoyment of the board for those remaining, but we could avoid a lot of the negative perception among kids who might want to come and play for us.
Allowing these kinds of perpetually negative posters to fester and multiply is what eventually killed off the old "Commonwealth Board" website a few years ago after it had gotten off to such a great start. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to this one.

but then a recruit should be able to figure what the program offers, and board messages should not matter that much.

Thanks for the post acchokie. I am a Hokie through and through and I have thought several times about leaving the site because of the negativity on the board, but I love my Hokies too much and gotta have the scoop!!! I realized I was focusing to much on what a few negative posters have to say and over looking the positives. Can't beat those Smitbits!!!
Seems natural to focus on the negative instead of being thankful and appreciating the good things we have, whether you are dealing with a message board or any other area of life (grass is greener syndrome). There are so many great things about being a Hokie and where the program is today. All those great facts CCB was tweeting the other day about wins, graduation, draft picks etc. All the Conference Championships we have won!!! Also, not sure if here or another board where someone posted the number of draft picks compared to recruiting rankings...we are like #8 in picks but our classes are usually top 20-30ish. We can coach them up for sure. 2012 and 2013 were awesome classes and 2014 will be just as good if not the best. Let things pan out, no we are not going to get all the guys we want but we are going to get those who want to be Hokies and those are the guys I am interested in rooting and cheering for...they have heart and will beat the hoohas all day long...3,439 days.
I think our problem is we need more highlight videos...here is one of my fav...this is VT FOOTBALL...team was stacked with VA talent.
EDIT: Sorry HokieDave87 not directed at you - was reading your post and hit the wrong button. But very much agree with what you had to say.
Please leave your thoughts. The song is Hate Me Now by P. Diddy and Nas. Clips are from techturf.com

This might sound super negative but any person, recruit or poster or reader, that gets upset by anything they read on a message board needs a reality check in a bad way. I can't believe how much constant whining I see on here about people getting downvotes or complaining about PATTS and/or NATTs. Post your opinion and move on, or read someone else's opinion and if you don't like it, move on. Sure there's some room for lively debates but the constant pissing contests and whiners are unreal. And as someone else said this site isn't even the worse one. And to the posters who are constantly berating other posters who do the berating are just as bad as the one's doing the initial berating. Everyone just needs to step back from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and get some perspective. Rant over.
