It would be a problem for players. The owner can sell as many jeresys as he wants but not pay the athletes. Just like any fan can get an autograph and then sell it to whomever he or she chooses. The players can't get a dime.
Im pretty sure that is how it goes with collegiate memorabilia, not 100% certain though.

I look forward to hearing all those names run over us this Fall.
Look for Yeldon to have a strong #2 at his side. Don't think he'll be able to handle the load on his own, but what do I know.
What about advertising? I vaguely remember when that story broke that their pictures were also used in advertising, much like players around the country getting in trouble for party invitations with their pictures.
Kenyan Drake and Jalston Fowler are studs that have had playing time. These are all of our running backs for next year.
Derrick Henry 5 *
Dee Hart 5*
TJ Yeldon 5*
Kenyan Drake 4*
Tyren Jones 4*
Alvin Kamara 4*
Altee Tenpenny 4*
Jalston Fowler 4*
Who knows who redshirts or plays H-back(hybrid fullback) but its definitly going to be a big competition.
That I am not sure of. I remember the players taking pictures with the owner but that isnt a violation that I know of.
Fair enough. Again, not flaming. I'm sure you get much worse from Auburn fans.
See you in August.

Now it's sounding like one of my group meetings at work. You gotta love living in Bama.
Welcome to the board, Bolden. I live in Hoover, work in Birmingham, and have been to a few of your games (not the good ones, just the leftovers from season ticket holders - Kent St., Georgia St, etc...). It's a great school and beautiful campus. I work with a ton of great Bama grads (as well as several Auburn grads).
That being said, I think we will relish the underdog status and surprise some folks. I'm not saying we will definitely win, but I think we will hang better than 4 tds. We'll see.
I grew up in the Hoover/Pelham area and know all about hwere you are at. My family still lives in Hoover. A lot of good folks around that area and hope to see you make it to a couple of bigger atmosphere type games.
Personally, I don't care about up and up. The only thing I'll remember is winning or losing.

TJ Yeldon is 6'2" 220ish...he is plenty big enough to take a beating in the trenches..but like you said, we have so much depth at the position that he won't have to carry the load himself. TJ could be the most talented of all the RBs Saban has had at Bama.
Jalston Fowler- 6'1" 245
Derrick Henry- 6'3" 245
Kenyan Drake- 6'1" 210
Tyren Jones- 5'9" 210
Altee Tenpenny- 5'11" 215
Alvin Kamara- 5'10" 205
Isn't that pretty much all you've done in this thread though?
I want to know from Bama fans who are posting here what they think the sprrad should be. The game will be close into the foirth quarter. Big question marks about Bama OL due to no chemistry with the players returning and the new ones plugging in
I honestly don't think the game will be close. We literally hear the same thing every year. About how this year will be different and we wont be as good. We have plugged our OL every year since Saban has been here and it basically just reloads. Will it be as good as last year? Hell no. Will we need them to be on their A-game for VT's DL? Yes.
But there is just so much talent on this team, it's unreal. Our defense will be nasty again, with the secondary replacing 2 players (Milliner and Lester).
The talent gap was closer in the 2009 game than it is now. I really thought Logan Thomas would be a great player, like I'm sure all of you did, but I just don't see it. Talented? Yes, but seems to make horrible decisions...and that isn't a good combination going against a complex, always rotating, Nick Saban defense. Go ahead and flame me, and say I'm arrogant, and how Bama fans are terrible and have no respect. I'm just being honest.
I respect Beamer and I think Bud Foster is a defensive guru, but I just really don't see this game being close. I would take Bama covering the spread all day.
And FYI, I was at the game in 09, and the Enter Sandman entrance gave me chill bumps. All the Bama fans around me were saying "Wow" the whole time.

This is beyond dumb. And just not fair haha.
Bama is not a question. Whoever they lost will be replaced by a 4 or 5 star All American. They will likely be the best team in the nation or at worst, one of the best.
The VT defense will be good, and will be able to play with Bama. The Offense cannot go 3 out and 3 out and keep them on the field, or they will wear down, and Bama will gash them. Which brings us to Logan. We do not believe Logan may be great because of hope and hype, but because of his performance on the field in the 2011 season. He set a VT record for total offensive yards, and had a completion rate of 60%. Logan and his center were the only returning offensive starters in 2012, and it is doubtful any QB could have been successful in VT's 2012 offense. So is 2013 Logan more like 2012 Logan or 2011 Logan? Remains to be seen.
Can the offense execute? Simple enough question. Can they execute the offense given to them? If not, makes no difference what they run, it won't work. If so, can Bama defend it? Good question. For the only time I can remember, VT opens the season, and their opponent has no game film of the offense, and no idea what to expect. Again, it they can't execute, it really doesn't matter. The offense is a huge mystery, which may favor VT if THEY CAN ACTUALLY EXECUTE.
Based on Bama being Bama, and VT coming off a 7-6 year, the 22 point spread is reasonable. VT is bringing a lot of unknowns, and nothing to lose. Bama may very well do what they are expected to do. But it could be interesting. We will all find out at the same time.
And this is who we have committed this year haha Bo Scarbrough...5-star RB. 6'2" 225
Freaking JR in High School.
Well he won't be playing against us now will he?
Deer Antler spray?
Didn't say he was. Just showing you how the process runs down here.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
The game will be close for one main reason, our defense. Your offense doesnt scare ne and the defense of yours had to replace a few players, not just secondary. Will be interesting but there is no way 22 points is xovered
we need to be better balanced. Great D cant hold bama, or any decent team by itself.
We need the offense to move the ball, eat up clock, and minimize bamas number of offensive plays.
we need a score from special teams.
we need to win the turnover battle by 2
and we still likely lose by ten or more.
