Hey Bolden how is Korren Kirven coming along. He was a DL that we wanted badly.
Ive heard a few good things about him. Problem is, is he an inside guy, or is he an outside guy? He's in between on size right now and needs to gain weight to play DT for Bama. Another problem is we recruited another guy by the name of Dalvin Tomlinson that was a state championship heavyweight wrestler. From the news I have heard he is very tough to block and extremely strong. If bama ever gets that interior guy that can push the pocket it will be scary for offenses with those Jack linebackers roaming around. I think Kirven will contribute to the cause there are just guys that are better ahead of him right now.

I can't speak for the entire SEC but as far as Alabama is concerned, they put up pretty big numbers when playing OOC BCS opponents. I think Bama's offense is underrated and since 09 has put up:
34 against VT
37 against Texas (had the #1 ranked rushing defense, Bama had two 100 yard rushers in the game)
24 against Penn State (Ingram didn't play, grind out the clock type of game)
62 against Duke (yes, Duke...but they're in your conference so don't make too much fun)
49 against Michigan State
27 against Penn State
41 against Michigan
42 against Notre Dame (also #1 ranked rushing defense, Bama had two 100 yard rushers again)
That's an average of 40 pts/game against BCS opponents. Those are some pretty impressive numbers. The defense gives the offense several opportunities and plenty of short fields but the efficiency of the offense is pretty dang good. And this 2013 offense has the potential to be the best Alabama has had under Saban.
It really stung to lose him, but no hard feelings here. I hope he can get on the field and contribute. We really wanted him.
Well y'all are the leader for Hand so that should ease any pain in the coming years.
Not according to one of my best friends who is an Auburn fan. He's convinced that Hand lands at Auburn.
Obviously I disagree but it's given me a perspective into what y'all deal with
Yes, their delusion truly knows no bounds. The things I read from their fanbase on their sites, Facebook, Twitter...it's disturbing stuff. If ever there was a cult-like fanbase in CFB, it is Auburn's. I'm sorry they had to drag you into it...you're not from here...you don't deserve that.
I think Bama and LSU are far and away the most talented teams in the country. UF can be right back up there, AM and USC-e can be up there but I think many teams can match up with UF, AM, and USC-e. I don't think many can with LSU and Bama...and FWIW, Les is an idiot and holds them back from their Saban days potential
Now you really don't believe that I hope. You did watch the UF vs FSU game right. Florida's anemic (in the SEC) offense rolled FSU at Doak Campbell. SCar did the same thing to Clumpson. Not very good examples of overrated defenses since they were playing these powerful ACC offenses.
BTW Lets not forget that SCar and FL were not at the top of the SEC heap last year.
Lets keep it in realityville here.
Hey man no one knows how he will do this year. Practices are closed so unless Bolden knows someone then he is going by reports we get here on BOL and elsewhere. You know reports like; "So and so is unblockable" etc etc. 90% of the time they are total BS. Kirven did not get any of that noise as far as I know but he redshirted and is only a pup. Way too early to tell how he will do.
BTW for the fan that posted our OOC BCS scoring, bothe Penn State games were name your score affairs. Saban really knew they were totally outmanned and played really conservatively. The one in T-Town he easily could have hung 50+ on joePa had he wanted to.
Got a couple guys I talk to on the DL. Just telling you what they tell me, but why would any of those guys that actually play for the team know who is good and who isnt right? Carry on.
I remember Dalvin Thompson, dude looked very mature in High School. He looked like a beast. Had a feeling Kirven might have a hard time seeing the field at Bama due to the competition there. Maybe, he sees the field in his Jr. or Sr. year.

Key word there was "unless Bolden knows someone". Obviously you do. Frankly I don't know anything about Bama other than what my eyes tell me when I see them on the field and I did not see either stand out in the spring game.
BTW I have been watching Alabama for about 40 years and if I had a nickle for all the "can't miss prospects" who missed or did not live up to billing I would be independenty wealthy. Yeldon and Cooper are the first ever IMO that exceeded the hype and then some.
I think Julio, Cyrus, and Trent all hit it pretty good. Julio obviously being the biggest contributor as a freshmen.
#beatbama FTW http://alabama.247sports.com/Board/116/SEC-defenses-down-for-13-season-Perfect-storm-18653391 read this thread that's what the gumpers really think of us.

A couple of idiots. Some pretty decent bama folk in this thread.
I think that is because his new coach played LB for Auburn and went to C.D. Hylton (Travon McMillian school) in Woodbridge. Hopefully he is new enough in D. Hand life that he will not be that big of an influence. He is a pretty impressive guy (I think he is a PhD) and comes from a very good family, his older brother played at the Naval Academy.
If by underachieving they mean almost every year finishing in the rankings exactly where we started and winning the ACC 50% of the time than yes, we underachieve like no other. We are not Bama, but we are no FSU either.....
40+ against s.carolina
Uga was in no way better than usc. They lost to usc by 28 and only score uga had was when game was over with a few mins left. Spurrier also took foot off gas. Uga is always overrated
FL literally had around 200 or less in total yards. A lot of turnovers killed USCe. Now UF did dominate them defensively.
OK VT fans what is your honest opinion of this question: As a fan from another school watching VT from afar it seems that VT's program is not anywhere near where it was when it peaked. I remember when yall crushed us in the music city bowl and played FSU for the NC the next year I think with Vick. To me those teams were head and shoulders better than any since but its not just because of players like Vick. VT used to always win the ST battle and play more of a mistake free game than what I see now. Am I wrong about this or am I missing something?
I think we're much more talented and have more depth than those teams had although the overall nastiness of the defense back then was off the chain comparitivly. But you're absolutely correct, beamerball hasn't been beamerball for awhile. ST and mistakes have been a problem, hopefully our renewed focus changes that.
Didn't UGA play USCe at the beginning of the year when UGA had tons of suspensions and tons of injuries? Also USCe was completely healthy
