This came up in the office today... do you think he's on some PED?
A guy in my office said, "Its a huge coincidence that a guy comes back early from a bad injury only to have the best year of his career." He made a good point.
no. AD is one of the few athletes ever who could probably have competed in the NFL coming straight out of high school. He is having the best year of his career, but it's not like it's a big anomaly he's always been considered one of the top rbs if not the top rb in the NFL.
I put him in the Bo Jackson category of pure freakness...that said, it would not surprise me if he had some additional medical assistance in the recovery process, and that could be legal? I don't know. I don't think he is now, he's always been on another level, but he's worked harder this past year and you can tell.
No way. AP is simply a freak of nature. You can just see the determination and will in his eyes and it shows. He worked hard to get back and not once has anyone questioned (until now) that he was on PEDs.

Ah, 90's baseball. The glory days of steriods.
Did you hear Hoo got arrested? Thomas Jefferson would be proud!
AP is the best RB I've seen. I am 28 and there have been some other great RBs in my lifetime (Barry, Emmit) but gimme AP all day. Dude is unreal.
AP is good, but give me Barry Sanders. He had moves that no one ever had.
AP is elite.....but he's no Bo. Bo Jackson is the best RB I've ever seen.
Tecmo Super Bowl proves it.
His nickname is "AD", stands for all day. His dad gave him that when he was a kid. Sorry I lived in OKC when he was at OU.
Earl Campbell didn't need moves.....of course his body's payin' for it now but damn he was a friggin wrecking ball.
For such a short career, Bo Jackson was no slouch....speed and power.
Earl Campbell was one of the greatest powerbacks of all time. He played most of his career with the Houston Oilers, and finished his career with the New Orle...

The NFL has a pretty good drug testing system, I would say he is just that good.
Earl Campbell would just run your ass over. Loved watching him play back in the day, and the 30 for 30 they just did on him was awesome.
He is paying the price for it now unfortunately.
Yo Bird, I live in America. Peterson's well known nickname nowadays is "AP." not sure what his Dad called him, but people nowadays call him AP.
Actually his nickname is still AD. If you watch a Vikings game or follow the NFL people call him that all the time. Sometimes you'll hear ADAP. I'm sure you can figure out what that stands for. The guy is known around the league as the hardest working guy on the Vikings, so I have no doubt he could work his way back as fast as possible. He is also a genetic freak, moreso than the average NFLer who is already a genetic freak.
With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if he failed a PED drug test.
I don't know about that? Not after watching him this year. But we also never got to see Bo as a full time football player....my comparision was more of their freakish abilities and bodies.
AD runs more aggressive than anyone I have ever see. My buddy and I had the conversation about him last week....who is the last RB you would trade for AD? How far back would you have to go? I'd say Barry, but that is not a lock for some, and would entertain Faulk in certain O's, but that's about it until you get to Sweetness, then Dickerson, Earl, OJ, Brown. He's super elite, and doing it vs monsters on the DL the others never imagined.
How much would the NFL shrink if all PED's were eliminated? 10%? 15%?
As are alot of ex NFL players, I am for the players on that issue, the NFL should do a better job of taking care of former players it isn't like they aren't making billions of $$ every year.
They can start by enforcing much greater penalties on PED's. Do they save samples and test them later when new test can better detect PED's? If not they should do that ASAP and threaten to penalize pensions...that would be a real threat.
These guys are clearly too big and move too fast, but there is too much money and life security for people not to take the chance and use if it gives them the advantage they need to secure their families forever....forget that many of them are too stupid to not spend all their money by the time they are 30
