Looking like Backy is almost back at 100%, skated 8 of the last 9 days in full pads, should be practicing next week. Assuming we don't poop the bed down the stretch, we should be at full strength, with 2 of our 4 major guns being pretty well rested (Backy and Green). Thoughts???

In the NHL more than any other sport, really, you just need an invite. This team has as much on-ice talent as any team in the league. If they can get hot, and if Neuvy or Vokoun are on, I am not afraid of anyone in the East....
Maybe they need to go in without expectations for once.

agreed on that last sentence, although the Pens are beating the living dogpoop out of everyone right now (of course we have done that the last 2 years....)

The last thing the Caps need is for the Pens to finish in 1st and the Caps 8th. The Penguins are healthy for the first time in...........2 years, really. Contrary to what most people think, they play some serious defense (aka: playoff-style hockey). If they are healthy, they will be tough to beat. And the Caps traditionally have not fared well against the Penguins in the playoffs dating all the way back to the old Patrick Division days.

He said he was only 50-60% last week. I'm cautiously optimistic we'll see him if we make the playoffs, but Crosby was skating for a while before he was cleared to play.
