I hear ya, coach, but much of his hitting is worthless. He's playing so out of control. His attempts at hits in neutral ice are creating 3 on 2's for the opponent. I actually think he should cool it with some of the hitting and play more disciplined.

I don't know. I'm no expert, but when Ovi is hitting - anybody for that matter - the whole team's intensity/confidence goes up a notch. Playing a wide open type game may not have been a good idea against Boston, but it is nice to know we can be successful at it, if needed. And it may work against some of our future opponents that won't be able to keep up with us.
Gone are the days of the Caps hoping to clutch and grab their way to a 1-0 victory - thankfully. We never had a prayer in those days, and it was painful coming close, but still losing close games, because we had nobody that was a threat to score. A one goal lead over the Caps used to mean you had iced the game. That would never be the case now, and most of that credit goes to Ovi, IMO. He is at the top of every team's game plan.

Small debate when all is said and done. I'm just ecstatic about this victory. Beating the defending champs, winning one goal games, winning OT, winning a game 7...on the road??? I'm in heaven. This stuff just doesn't happen for the Caps. I've been on board since '74 listening to games on the radio on school nights as i drifted off to sleep. I really feel we have a shot this go 'round, and it's been a long time coming!

That game could only happen to the Caps. I was working tending bar that night, but I remember it well. Just MISERY!
I think that victory last night makes up for it, though. Ha. It sure was sweet.
