Here's to hoping Marcus has a good early season, adds a few pounds, and gets an offer from the Hokies. It could work out well for both Marcus Boone and the Hokies.

I hope to see film or stats on this guy.....i really know nothing about him. Is he a good RB or whip? I thought we were recruiting bigger guys? He seems like a rover size to me. I love the athletes but i hope we get a lil more beef in the LB corps. I hope RVD gets to 230-235 range and not the 210-215 typical guys.

Cody Grimm was Boone's size and excellent as the whip. Also, rovers and whips often experiment between both positions early on in their careers. Lastly, Boone is Hand's cousin.

You also have to take into account that he won't see college fb for 2 more years. Kids can grow in 2 years. He'll fill out and possibly get taller.

I'm all for playing the game, but VT football does has principles it lives by. What kind of statement would it make for us to offer someone with obvious intentions of landing someone close to him? Especially this early. I don't think that's how the coaches want to do business. If Boone wants an offer, he'll need to earn one like every other Hokie.

Agree staff is doing a great job getting these kids on campus early. The recruiting begins earlier and earlier each year, with more kids deciding in the summer and not waiting to take officials you have to start early.
Boone needs an offer!

Hes tough. Hes good at both,heck of an athlete. Boones frame could easily carry 230,has wide shoulders and will grow to about 6'2" imo. Keep in mind hes only a Jr. This kid is going to make big strides in the next 2 years.

Which is why we are waiting to see him play as a junior. He may get a boost due to him being family to Hand (similar to legacy recruits) but if he's a Wahee type he still won't receive an offer.

Thanks CZY but dang, i didnt realize he's a rising junior. Thats a nice size for his grade. I appreciate the heads up.
