the old turn the TE to OL trick again eh? interesting....i feel like i have seen this before....but where?

I'd rather us decide he's an OL now rather than wait until his 2nd year at Tech

Prob just a case of him having a better mix of size and athleticsm than anyone else on his HS team. Considering who his father is, I'd expect him to come in more prepared than your average fr.

Both Ed Wang and Duane Browne were converted after they had been in the program for 2 years, these are our two most successful linemen, in that they are the only two that made NFL rosters recently.

The TE conversion argument is totally blown out of proportion in my opinion. We have essentially converted 5 guys from TE to OL. Wang and Brown, both who made the NFL. Lanier, who ended up holding off Becton for 3 years. Nosal, who ended up being a two year starter. Richard Graham, who was a project, ended up being a utility guy.

So we are talking about 5 guys, 4 who started, 2 who are in the NFL, and 1 who is a franchise player.

Not such a bad track record if you ask me. Compare that to the pure OL we have recruited, the list of busts or transfers are really long...Clarke Crum, Aaron Brown, Tripp Carol, Matt Welsh, William Alvarez, Hivera Green, Iban Latif, Robert Norris, Antonio North.

My point is that people have latched onto this issue of us converting people to TE as our major issue. I would say based on the facts, that's not our issue AT ALL. In fact our hit rate is WAY higher with converted TE's.
