I think that gets lost... just how hard it is to do recruiting well. Our model has always been to evaluate and evaluate again before offering, which I know a lot of people don't always like, but I appreciate the staff making that effort consistently and I think it's paid off (particularly since our sweet spot is that high 3-star kid who turns into a 4/5 star by their senior year).

-It's easy to go offer the top juniors in Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando- even Miami.
-Lakeland, though near Tampa/Orlando, is not as easy to get to and though there is plenty of talent there, most out-of-state recruiters aren't there doing junior recruiting unless it's one of the programs from an adjacent state.
-And then, consider that Kathleen isn't the most prominent of the Lakeland schools, and you realize it took work to uncover this kid.

I remember VT had their eye on TJ Lawrence some years back from this same high school. He ended up with the Gators though. Would've loved to have TJ back in the day, and from the looks of it, this young man would be a great Hokie.

He signed with Florida, but if i recall correctly didnt play much and may have transferred. Again, i could be wrong but i thought i remembered that.
