It’s another primetime Thursday night game for Virginia Tech as the Hokies play host to No. 10 Florida State. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised by ESPN.
In 2012, Virginia Tech has struggled away from Lane Stadium, but if Florida State defeats the Hokies tonight, it will be the first loss of the season Virginia Tech has taken on its home field.
The Hokies had to stage a rally with less than a minute in regulation in a 20-17 overtime win against Georgia Tech in the season opener for both teams Labor Day night and certainly had their bad moments in wins against Austin Peay (42-7), Bowling Green (37-0) and Duke (41-20), but for the most part Virginia Tech has been a vastly better team on its home field this year.
Florida State has not been challenged this season except for three quarters in a 49-37 win against Clemson in September and also in the second half of an improbable 17-16 upset loss at N.C. State.
